Great VCs are born not made. It's not for everyone. It's for hard heads who do better investing in someone else's company than they would starting one. It takes a certain type of hard head who doesn't need to control everything but still makes sure that those levers are there for founders to pull and that those founders are incentivized to pull them. It's for a supporting entrepreneurial partner who wants to be involved and actively support (long term, to follow through and follow on). There are a lot of tourists and they get flushed out every 10 years or so. It takes someone who is doing the right things for the right reasons. If you're looking for a job, this might not be the job. It's more of a hustle if you're doing the right things for the right reasons and being a long term partner.
